We shared a beautiful evening together, and appreciate all those who helped.
Sister Kate McKinley put together a great evening focused on reaching out to our sisters in need.
She shared this video from Sister Julie Beck, and thought it was worth posting.
We also heard a poem from Sister Tatum, and with her permission, shared with all of you:
To Visit
In the past, I drove for miles and miles,
some sister to help or see.
We laughed and cried and talked of things
as they were, or ought to be.
The Spirit filled our hearts and minds
as friendship blossomed and grew,
Until we were one in the knowledge of Christ,
and each other, we thoroughly knew.
To visit, is a precious gift, to all the
parties involved.
Even though, at the end thereof...
some problems, are left unsolved.
I miss those visits with sister's dear,
that special comradery,
And yet I know I'm serving now,
where my Savior has need to me.
To write a letter to a sister unknown
is a scary and touchy thing!
It may all be for naught, tossed
in the trash and never seen.
Yet, I've learned you can love without knowing...
that prayer opens the heart to hear,
and in this way these sisters unknown,
become precious and very dear.
I've written so many that I've long since lost count!
But the lessons I've learned are clear...
Love conquers doubt, service is love, and
faith does away with all fear.

Our evening was beautiful. Full of the spirit and strong testimony of Visiting Teaching and the RS Program.
We even made magnetic holders for our Visiting Teaching lists:
President Spencer W. Kimball said:
“There are many sisters who are living in rags—spiritual rags. They are entitled to gorgeous robes, spiritual robes. … It is your privilege to go into homes and exchange robes for rags.”21
Thanks to all!
